I decided that I wanted to build a model of the clocktower on The Triangle in Clevedon to put on a future model railway, but working out all the measurements for it would prove difficult when working from scratch. So I thought I would have a go at drawing it on the computer using Google SketchUp to give me a quick and easy reference for taking measurements from when I do get round to building the physical model.

Using drawings and measurements given in a book called 'Clevedon - Places and Faces' published by Clevedon Civic Society and a number of photos taken by myself, I have proceeded to draw Clevedon Clocktower on the computer. A lot of the dimentions have been roughly measured against the drawings by Austin Davis that appeared in the afore mentioned book and using his descriptions in the write up that goes with them to assist with working them out.

Once I have completed the detail at the top and added the roof on top, I shall add in the details on the lower part of the tower, including the door and drinking fountain. I'll then move on to trying to add photo textures to all the surfaces
